“But seek the welfare of the city
where I have sent you into exile,
and pray to the LORD on its behalf,
for in its welfare you will find your welfare.”
(Jeremiah 29:7)

Christ Covenant Church values missions on a local, national, and international level.  Seek the City is the church’s yearly local mission trip which involves all ages and communities of our church.  All members benefit from Seek the City through service, mission, and volunteering.  It takes a total church effort each year and this combined effort brings great unity to our church, excitement for the communities, and growth within the youth ministry.   In our theme verse (Jeremiah 29:7) we are called to seek the welfare of our city.  The word welfare means “peace.”  We believe the best way to bring peace to a city is to bring the peace and the love of Christ demonstrated through service and mission.  We are also commanded in God’s Word to go and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28).  We take this mandate very seriously and this call from God motivates us to go into our city with the Word of God and the love of Christ.  God’s Word also gives us The Great Commandment (Matthew 22 & Mark 12) which tells us we should love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength and love our neighbor as ourselves.  Loving God and our neighbor means we must be obedient to God’s commands and intentionally love others as God loves us.  This means out of our love for God and others we feel compelled to love those in our city.  Thanks for helping Christ Covenant Church fulfill its mandate to Love God and people by being obedient to these specific callings.
